Privacy Policy

Nicoll LTD Co ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Patch Fund mobile application and this website (https://patchfund.app).

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use Patch Fund, how we use it, and the choices you have. Patch Fund is a parent-facing allowance tracker. The app is not directed at children; parents enter information about their children to manage household allowance.

Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account information — If you enable household sync, you may sign in with Apple or Google. We receive account identifiers and, when provided by the sign-in provider, your name and email address.
  • Profile information — Your display name, shown on entries you log when household sync is enabled.
  • Household and allowance data — Children's first names (or nicknames), weekly starting allowance amounts, ledger entries (amount, reason, date), and closed week summaries.
  • Voice and Siri input — If you use Siri shortcuts, spoken phrases are processed to create allowance entries. Depending on your configuration, parsing may occur on your device or through a third-party language model (see below).
  • Support communications — Information you send us by email, such as your email address and the content of your message.

Information collected automatically

  • Device-stored data — When you use Patch Fund without signing in, allowance data is stored locally on your device.
  • Sync and session data — When signed in, authentication tokens and synced household data are transmitted between your device and our backend to keep accounts and households up to date.

We do not use third-party advertising networks, and we do not sell your personal information.

How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • Provide allowance tracking, history, and household sync features
  • Authenticate you and associate data with the correct household
  • Attribute entries to the parent who logged them in shared households
  • Parse Siri voice input into allowance entries when you use voice shortcuts
  • Respond to support requests and legal or safety obligations
  • Improve reliability and security of the app and services

How we store information

  • Local-only mode — If you do not sign in, your allowance data remains on your device. We do not receive it.
  • Household sync — If you sign in, household data is stored in a cloud database hosted by Supabase, Inc. Data is protected by access controls so household members can access only their own household's information.

Third-party services

Depending on how you use Patch Fund, data may be processed by:

  • Apple — Sign in with Apple and Siri/App Intents on iOS (Apple Privacy Policy).
  • Google — Google Sign-In when you choose that option (Google Privacy Policy).
  • Supabase — Authentication and cloud database for household sync (Supabase Privacy Policy).
  • OpenAI — Optional natural-language parsing of Siri phrases when an API key is configured for your build. If enabled, the spoken phrase you provide may be sent to OpenAI for parsing (OpenAI Privacy Policy). When not enabled, parsing uses on-device rules instead.

These providers process data according to their own policies and our agreements with them, as applicable.

Data retention

  • Local-only data remains on your device until you delete it, delete the app, or remove the app's data from your device.
  • Cloud account and household data are retained while your account is active. You may request deletion as described on our Delete your data page.
  • We may retain limited information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as resolving disputes or enforcing our terms.

Your choices and rights

  • Use Patch Fund without an account to keep data on your device only.
  • Sign out at any time from the Household tab when using household sync.
  • Request access to or deletion of cloud account data — see Delete your data.
  • Contact us at contact@nicoll.co with privacy questions or requests.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws (for example, to access, correct, or delete personal information). We will honor applicable legal requests.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS) and database access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

International users

If you use household sync, your information may be stored and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using those features, you consent to this transfer where permitted by law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the effective date above. Continued use of Patch Fund after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
